We are local designers, social & cultural innovation researchers, focusing on creating more possibilities through traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. We want to bring sustainable lifestyle and a social co-benefit to the whole product chain. Now many of our works have won International Prize, like the Gold Design Award, Core77 Design Award, Dezeen, Dubai Global Grad Show and. Also, our work have been recognised by People's Daily, UNDP and other media.

麦草猫结合非遗工艺与现代生产，变废弃秸秆为可降解猫窝，助力秸秆减焚与乡村创新。 它结合非遗编织工艺与现代规模化生产，是由希望为中国碳中和贡献自己力量的本土设计师所设计。取材于土地而降解于土地，不产生额外污染。 它帮助阳郭村当地文化在现代城市生活中找到契合点，让文化流传、村民获益。 1.缓解气候变化： 麦草猫将秸秆焚烧问题变围堵为疏通，提供焚烧之外的更优选择。将秸秆从焚烧问题转换成可持续材料机会，减少秸秆焚烧，带来清新空气。 2.助农扶贫： 乡村的生产者们通过自身技能增加收入、得到尊重，城市消费者买到好用的猫窝、非遗文化产品。麦草猫在乡村与城市中创造了新的利益分配模式，在现代城市生活与当地文化中建立平衡点。每年全村80%以上的村民会参麦辫的编制过程，而麦草猫的生产为当地贫困户、残疾群众、留守妇女创造就业机会20余位，参与工厂麦秸秆产品计件加工，人均增加家庭收入可达3000元/月（超出当地平均收入标准） 3.为乡村留守人群提供工作：麦草猫通过简单的加工大幅提升秸秆经济价值，同时又能让每个村民参与其中。麦草猫是由麦辫编织盘绕而成，我们在麦辫的编织和麦草猫的加工过程中为残疾人群提供就业岗位。

WHECAT combines intangible cultural heritage technology and modern production, turning waste straw into a degradable cat nest, helping rural innovation and reducing incineration of straw. WHECAT combines intangible cultural heritage weaving technology with modern large-scale production, and is designed by local designers who want to contribute to China's carbon neutrality. The material is taken from the ground and degraded in the ground without additional pollution. WHECAT helps the local culture of Yangguo Village culture integrate in modern urban life, spreading the culture and benefiting villagers. 1.Mitigating climate change: Whecat transforms the problem of straw burning into a solution, providing a better alternative. By turning straw from a problem into a sustainable material opportunity, we can reduce straw burning and bring fresh air.More than 80% of the village's residents participate in the braiding process each year, and the production of whecat creates more than 20 employment opportunities for local poor households, people with disabilities, and left-behind women. These individuals participate in the piecework processing of straw products at the factory, and their average family income can reach 3000 yuan/month (above the local average income standard). 2.Helping farmers and eradicating poverty: Rural producers increase their income and gain respect through their own skills, and urban consumers buy useful cat houses and cultural heritage products. Whecat creates a new model of benefit distribution in rural and urban areas, balancing modern urban life with local culture. 3.Providing work for people with disabilities: Whecat greatly increases the economic value of straw through simple processing, while also enabling every village resident to participate. Whecat is made by weaving braids around a spool, and in the process of weaving the braids and processing whecat, we provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
