Architect Ugo Camerino graduated in architecture from IUAV University of Venice where he subsequently took up a professorship for Architectural Composition.His professional activity has encompassed, both in Italy and abroad, the fields of architecture, urban planning and restoration projects, addressing a range of diverse issues:

 

Construction of complexes: hospitals, schools, museums, science parks, technology centres and convention centres;

esidential buildings;

Technical and functional restoration of historical buildings;

Exhibition design and co-ordination.

 

His architectural studio is in the historic heart of Venice at Palazzo Sandi. He collaborates with other architects and engineering companies from Italy and elsewhere (Padua, Milan, Turin, Alba, Rome, Berlin, Paris, St. Petersburg).Over the last few years the studio has intensified its participation in national and international design competitions, entering and winning with a number of projects. Amongst the museum and cultural sector generally, the studio has carried out; the restoration of synagogues as well as the redesign of the Jewish Museum of Venice, the exhibition for contemporary art in the province of Trieste, Verona Public Library, the Rector’s building at Verona University. In the health sector; the Emergency Department of Venice Hospital, Alba Bra Hospital and the hospital project in Cagliari. Infrastructure projects include; Pantelleria airport and realisation of the passenger cruise ship terminals for Venice and Trieste. In Venice he has participated in numerous restoration projects, both at the urban scale; Saint Mark’s Square and countermeasures against high-tide flooding in the town’s centre, as well as many individual restoration projects such as the restoration of the Palladian complex at Zitelle on the island of Giudecca, the Giorgio Cini Foundation’s library and student residence on San Giorgio Maggiore Island and many conservation projects for historic buildings along the Grand Canal like the prestigious palazzo Ca’da Mosto.
