I reinterpreted traditional Korean inlay technique in a way that suites modernity and applied it to these pieces.
Among the many traits, I feel like the high heeled white utensils used in ancestral rites are especially appealing. These utensils are used for special ceremonies dedicated to gods and ancestors. Compared to other bowls, the white utensils used in ancestral rites are not only represents the refined form, but also represents independent elements that are truly interesting in figurative feature. Beyond ordinary ceramics, this work maintains the tradition and integrity of the art while combining a modern aesthetic and expressing a new type of beauty. This utensil used in ancestral rites involves modern reinterpretation and application of traditional Korean inlay techniques, also in using other materials after dis-assembly and reunion of the formative structure.
